The Mold Removal Process in Mount Carmel, PA

True remediation is about containment and removal, not just killing. Dead mold spores are still allergenic. Our process includes:

  • Containment: We set up plastic barriers and negative air pressure chambers to ensure mold spores don't spread to clean parts of the house during work.
  • Removal: We remove compromised porous materials (like drywall and insulation) and use HEPA vacuum mold cleaning on semi-porous surfaces.
  • Treatment: We apply antimicrobial treatments to structural studs to prevent future growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is bleach good for killing mold? No. Bleach only bleaches the color; it doesn't kill the root on porous surfaces. We use EPA-registered fungicides designed specifically for remediation.
  • How much does mold inspection cost? We offer competitive pricing for inspections. If we find mold that needs remediation, the inspection fee is often credited toward the removal cost.
  • Can I paint over mold? Never paint over active mold. The paint will peel, and the mold will eat through it. The mold must be removed or remediated before encapsulation paint is applied.
  • What causes musty smells? Musty odors are MVOCs (Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds)—gas released by actively growing mold. If you smell it, you have a moisture problem.
  • Do I need to move out during remediation? Usually, no. If we can set up secure containment barriers, you can safely live in the other parts of the home while we work.Call 24/7: Get an Immediate Crew On-Site

Mount Carmel, PA Insights: Population,
Zip Codes, Influence, and Service Areas

Sawmill operator, Albert Bradford, gave Mount Carmel its name because of its elevation and beautiful setting in the mountains. He decided that it deserved a special name and named it after the holy mountain in Israel. Mount Carmel began as a logging town. Coal was only discovered in 1790 by Isaac Tomlinson. It took twenty-four years until the first shipment of anthracite was shipped from the borough. Mount Carmel Inn was opened in 1812 by Richard Yarnall and was strategically located on the Centre Turnpike (also known as the Reading-Sunbury Road or Old Reading Road) halfway between Pottsville and Danville. During the latter part of 1854, the Philadelphia and Sunbury Railroad was completed from Shamokin to Mt. Carmel, which led to the opening and development of a number of collieries in the region. During the same year, the Locust Mountain Coal and Iron Company commenced making extensive openings and improvements upon their valuable coal lands in the vicinity of Mt. Carmel, building coal breakers for two collieries – the Coal Ridge and Locust Mountain collieries. The township was erected in 1854, formed from part of Coal Township; by 1862 the borough was incorporated within the township.
